Would not come again to this place. Tried several shooting ranges in the area, and this one by far is the worst. Took my son today to this “Steadfast Tactical” and experienced the following: 1. All frowny employees with angry attitude who did NOT make us welcome upon entering the store, and throughout. 2. We were the only people in the range (Sunday 1pm). Tells a lot about how popular this place.. 3. I brought my guns and ammo and only wanted to rent a shot gun which they told me they do not have. 4. Even if we ended up renting, we would have to buy ammo from them as they won’t accept any outside ammo. This wasn’t a problem for us today since we did not rent. 5. This is my biggest pet peeve: they charged us $4 for EVERY paper clip that caught a bullet during shooting. This is normally a complementary expense for all shooting ranges I used in the past. Cost of a paper clip that holds paper target is probably 5 cents. These guys charged us $4 for each of the 4 clips that dropped during shooting plus $4 for the T-shaped cardboard because “we damaged it.” Total $20 additional proving how cheap and desperate this place is in collecting money, even from first time customers like us. Note that the clips and cardboard were half damaged before we even started shooting. The guy there told me that we need to “learn how to shoot and avoid hitting those precious paper clips.” What a garbage place… 6. The place has only 5 lanes and the target kept automatically adjusting distance without us touching or asking. Such a waste of time, and the range never reimbursed us for it. 7. I needed a small screw driver to exchange a cylinder on my revolver, and they told me they cannot give me theirs “unless they charge for it”. I just went back to my car to grab one. Such a bad customer service and again being desperate to collect money in such a dead business. 8. Because we were the only patrons there, the employees there had nothing else to do other than coming in the range and bother us every 10minutes with advices that we did not need. *** UPDATE FOLLOWING OWNER’S RESPONSE: the owner’s response shows the continued attitude toward innocent customers and making up lies of “asking us to keep the distance closer”. Clips are common expenses that any ranges cover for courtesy. Clips are expected to be shot because we are in a SHOOTING RANGE!!! Tools not coming back? Who do you think we are? We even asked you to come with the tool so you take it back when done, liar. Well, owner, I have something to tell you: you will not see an additional penny paid to you from me in the future. Unless you address the issues above and LEARN how to treat your customers and stop being defensive, your business is going to go down the drain soon. You should’ve at least offered a courtesy partial refund for your garbage behavior.
from googleI’d hate to see a small business fail, but I fear they will unless their staff “drops the attitude”. The manager/son (?) does nothing but act superior. The reason for my being scorned? I dropped off my AR bc of a trigger issue and I asked how they knew the repair was completed if it hadn’t been test fired. I was told b/c they “know what they’re doing”. These guys need to learn their in a service industry or they won’t last. Here’s hoping they learn. By the way, the cleaning was fine, prompt and thorough.
